Presenter: Richard Vallee, Vice President of Fish Tracking Sales, Innovasea
Date: Wednesday, November 4, 2020 Time: 3.00 PM - 3.30 PM BST (10 AM - 10:30 AM EDT)
The vastness and complexity of the ocean make the gathering and processing of biological data challenging. Aquatic animals are almost constantly in motion and some species can migrate thousands of kilometres over distinct ecosystems. It is, however, imperative to understand fish and marine animal behavior, movements and habitat use to enable better decisions about management and conservation. Remote monitoring can help address critical issues facing the oceans such as endangered species, collapsing food stocks, pollution, and global warming.
An industry pioneer for four decades, Innovasea’s groundbreaking tracking technology helps researchers push the boundaries of science to deliver accurate data and the cutting-edge research used to protect habitats and safeguards species. Learn how Teledyne Benthos CM-903 Compact Modems are enabling their VR4 UWM (Underwater Modem) to be used for tracking and recording tagged fish populations. In this webinar, Richard Vallee, Vice President of Fish Tracking Sales at Innovasea, will introduce you to this innovative technology and guide you through several real-world case studies.
Dr. Richard Vallée is the Vice President of Sales for Innovasea’s Fish Tracking division and specializes in developing studies for tracking wild fish stocks in both marine and fresh water ecosystems using acoustic telemetry solutions (ultrasonic tags and receivers). He has over 30 years experience developing embedded systems solutions using ASICs, FPGAs, microelectronics and sensors. Richard’s recent focus has been on combining acoustic telemetry solutions for fish tracking with environmental monitoring of aquatic ecosystems. He holds degrees in physics, electrical engineering and business.
